Being Wrong Miniseries #7
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Never wrong? You're getting old.

Did you do the exercises in Being Wrong #4,5, and 6?
Being vigilant in identifying where we are wrong and delusional is important no matter how successful we are in life.
Most people think that people who have achieved success or a certain level of mastery are always right. Or at least think that they are always right.
But, losing our willingness to learn and becoming set in our ways is a surefire way of stumbling from success.
It’s called getting old.
It happens to people. It happens to corporations. It happens to schools, governments, and even religions.
The larger and more successful we become, the more vigilant we need to
become about being wrong, learning, and growing.
Why?
Because the better we get at something, the more we need to pay attention to feedback.
At the highest levels, the tiniest of adjustments have giant impacts.
Being a few millimeters off won’t mean much to a car. It can be concerning for an airplane. It’s dangerous for a jet plane. And it’s devastating for a space shuttle.
Being 0.1 second faster at running 100 meters is meaningless to most of us. But to an Olympian, it can be the difference between silver and gold. Or bronze and not placing. Or a new world record.
It’s the micro adjustments that will make the big differences in our lives – and determine whether our lives stay the same or become the lives that we dream about.
May you constantly improve and never get old!
