Emotions Miniseries #3

The Secret Messages Buried Inside Your Emotions
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The major theme for the last couple of days in the Practical LOA family has been: Don’t fear your emotions.

Suppressing or denying your emotions is like taking a hammer to a smoke detector when it goes off... You may have stopped the ear-bursting trill, but you’ve done nothing about the fire in your kitchen!

Plus your emotions have important information for you. What information? Let’s take a look.

There are many scales used to map the spectrum of human emotions. The one most commonly referenced in the LOA world comes from Abraham Hicks, which identifies 22 different emotions.

But today, we’re going to talk about 5… the 5 from 5 element/phase theory in Chinese Medicine.

Just like the elements in the periodic table combine to create all known matter, these 5 elemental emotions mix and combine to create the full range of emotions that we experience.

Wood Anger Anger is a powerful emotion that demans action. Nothing motivates us to move - to do something - quite like anger. So not only does it show us that the situation before us is something we don’t want, but it gives us the energy to take action.

Knowing this, we can utilize that energy to direct our Motion towards what we want, rather than allow it become a destructive force. Anger tells us that our Motion, more so than our Attraction, is out of alignment. Likely, our focus is imbalanced towards the external world, vs a balance between internal and external.
Fire Happiness, Joy The Fire element is great. It's where our passion and excitement stem from. Joy and happiness are our greatest indicators that we are aligned.

The more aligned we are - the happier we get and the more anticipation we feel - the faster we are moving along our path and the sooner we get results. What results depend on the actions we've taken, but it you were properly aligned, they will closely match the Intention you set unless there is more for you to learn.
Earth Love, Worry A feeling of love indicates that we've arrived at our desire on at least that one dimension.

From love stems sympathy. And sympathy unchecked or combined with fear can cause worry. Worry indicates that our thoughts are not aligned, usually because we are not thinking thoughts about our self, relationship, and especially future that are aligned with our Intention.

Remember, though, that the worry stems from love. Pulling ourselves back to center and realigning our thoughts will get us back on track and alleviate worry.
Metal Grief, Depression Grief shows that our focus is imbalanced towards the internal world rather than balanced between internal and external. It shows us that our thoughts not are not aligned, usually because they are being directed towards the past rather than the present or anticipation of the future. Grief causes us to focus on loss rather than the incredible abundance that exists in the universe.

Shifting our focus more externally and recognizing the abundance that exists in the world will help alleviate grief. The universe doesn't tolerate vacuums and quickly fills them. The moment we let go of our loss, the doors are open for the universe to replace it with something amazing.
Water Fear Fear can be the most limiting of emotions. In emotional scales that reduce emotions down to 2 fundamentals, Love is always on one side and Fear on the opposite extreme.

However, once we understand fear, it actually becomes very exciting.

Fear simply means that you've been pushed beyond your comfort zone. That's it. Some people associate fear with danger. But danger is simply a situation that we are not well euipped to handle. Jumping from a plane can be frightening. But to experienced skydivers, it's fun and safe. They have the skills and equipment necessary to handle it. It's within their comfort zone.

Public speaking is often cited as a fear that is worst that the fear of death for some people. But for experienced speakers, actors, and teachers, it's a breeze. They have the skills and knowledge necessary to handle the situation. It's within their comfort zone.

So what do these examples tell us about fear?

When we experience fear, we are outside our comfort zone. If we are far outside our comfort zone, we can be in real trouble but that can be easily corrected. When we experience fear, retreat to where we are comfortable, then ease ourselves to the very edge or just beyond our comfort zone.

Why?

Because this is the zone where we Grow and Learn.

When our fear is not terrifying and all-consuming, but just enough to put us on edge, it's an exciting time. It means we are about to learn and become better. It means we are in the process of BECOMING they type of poeple that DO they the types of things so we HAVE the desires that we want in our lives.

These are just the basics. Your emotions can reveal a lot more detail to your specific situation.

So take some time and examine if you where in your life you have anger, where you have joy, where you have love and worry, where you have grief, and where you have fear.

Recognize those emotional states for what they are and receive the gift of the information they are giving you.

Then use it to get aligned with your Intention or Purpose. Not only will you be on a straighter path to you success, but you’ll feel better too!
