Visualization Miniseries #10

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 Vital Visualizations no one ever talks about Revealed: Part 1
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are 3 visualizations that everyone who is serious about Creating the life of their dreams should practice every day and have ready in their back pocket.

Remember, visualization is really practice for real life. So we really should have one visualization for each thing we need practice in.

For sure, we need a visualization for the dream or desire we are currently pursuing. This is the one that every LOA program and all the teachers talk about, so we won’t spend any time on this one.

But, other than practice, there is another reason for visualization: shifting our state.

We’ll go more into states of Being in the following editions of the visualization series. For today, let’s focus on the fact that visualization helps us shift our state of being.

It is our Beingness that Creates. It is our Beingness that attracts things to us. And it is our Beingness determines the actions we take.

Recall: Be, Do, Have
Be the kind of person that
Does the types of things that causes you to
Have the life that contains your dreams and desires.

There are two important states of Being to every Creation.

And there are two visualizations that we seldom, if ever, hear about.

The first one is the state of the Winner.

We all have a story at some point in their life where they won. Where we overcame obstacles and the odds against us.

As we continue purposefully Creating our lives, we accumulate more and more of these stories. Pick your favorite one and turn it into a visualization.

For example, I could choose becoming a portfolio manager when everyone said it was impossible and the company I worked for had not promoted internally for 7 years.

I could choose not only getting into my MBA program when everyone said it was impossible because I had no work experience, but getting Faculty Fellowship and scholarship on top of it.

I could choose a great number of winning moments in my life, but my favorite go-to visualization for Winning is a high school swim meet.

I was the anchor (last swimmer) in the 200 yard relay (4 swimmers swimming 50 yards each). In the lanes to my left and right, the anchors from the opposing team looked at each other and said “Let’s get this guy.”

Right when I heard those words, I grinned and chuckled, a smug knowingness came over me.

They couldn’t possibly swim fast enough, because I just KNEW I was going to beat them.

They had every reason to believe they would win. By the time they were tagged into the race, my teammate that was to tag me in was nearly 25 yards behind. I had to overcome a 25 yard head start with 50 yards left in the race.

Their lead looked enormous from where I stood on the block. It seemed futile to even try…

But my team chose me as the anchor for a reason. Leaping off the block, I thought “I’ll show them!” In my heart I had already won. I could FEEL it.

Charging down the lane with all my speed and strength, I caught up with them as we neared the end of our 50 yards. With one last burst of energy, I thrust my hand forward and touched the timer pad on the wall…

0.2 seconds before either of my two rivals!

Joy and pride burst from me. Never before had I felt like such a winner and champion.

Every time I want to feel complete confidence, knowingness that I will come out on top, and like a Winner, I visualize and replay this memory.

Feeling like you’ve already won – knowing that you are a winner – is an important state for any achievement, especially when you face overwhelming odds that seem impossible to overcome.

Have your Winning visualization ready and slip into the state of a Winner every day and any time you feel defeated.

So, go back and search your memory for a time when you felt like a true Winner and Champion. Turn it into a visualization and practice it daily.

And in the next edition, we’ll go over the second Vital Visualization that no one ever talkes about.

To the Winner inside you!
