Visualization Miniseries #5
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Becoming the Master Creator of your Reality
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the last edition of the Visualization Miniseries, we discovered that visualization is practicing in the mind.
We practice in the mind because we can control time in our minds.
We can make it slower than real life and control all the conditions. In physical reality, things happen and change so rapidly, our old programmed responses get activated rather than practicing the new ones we want to program.
At the same time it can be faster than real life – we can do far more repetitions in our minds than we can trying to set up all the conditions in physical reality.
So, we train over and over again until second nature and we can respond to opportunities in life with the decisions and actions that lead to the physical reality of our desires.
This is called mastery.
No one understands mastery better than the martial arts. In Chinese and Japanese martial arts, 3 steps to mastery are identified.
The Chinese call it Di, Ren, Tian which ties in beautifully with the Between Heaven and Earth model.
The Japanese have a snazzier and more literal term, shuhari. We’ll use that one so since we haven’t covered Between Heaven and Earth yet.

Translation |
Meaning |
守   Shu |
"Observe" |
The traditional wisdom. Learning the fundamentals. |
破   Ha |
"Break" |
Breaking from Tradition. Detach from delusions of self. In martial arts, this begins at the first levels of black belt. |
離   Ri |
"Leave" |
Transcendence. There are no techniques. Only natural, completely uninhibited motion, becoming one with spirit alone without clinging to forms. Transcending the physical and unlocking the spirit.
|
In the Shu stage you know all the rules and forms. You repeat them, never deviating. Like a choreographed dance, you do follow the rules, you take the preplanned actions at the preplanned times.
In the Ha stage, once you've mastered the forms. You’ve learned all the moves. You’re the perfect technical dancer. And so you begin to make innovations. You put an extra flare in your step on the dance floor.
In the Ri stage, you discard all forms. You're able to be creative in a completely unhindered way because the knowledge of the meaning of dance is so deeply embedded in you that your every motion expresses its essence. You’ve truly mastered the practice.
Let’s apply this to visualization.
Shu |
Visualize. Practice the traditional wisdom in your head over and over, listening to the guidance of your mentors who have done it before. |
Ha |
As you execute in real life, you learn from the feedback and results. While others may have Created similar things as you in their lives, their lives are not your own. So you innovate based on particular opportunities presented to you. |
Ri |
You become completely in tune with yourself and your desires. It is so natural, so ingrained, that the true essence of your true Self is expressed in your Creation. |
So visualize, and become the Master Creator of your reality!
