In Money Miniseries #5, we’re going to talk about the Tao, or the Way, of Flowing Money.
In the previous edition, we went over the 4 ways of Creating money in your life: Employment, Self-Employment, Business, and Investment.
Most people make money using the Employment method. One reason is because we’ve been trained to see employment as safe, while the others can entail a great deal of risk.
Another reason is that most people have an aversion to selling.
In reality, all 4 methods have risk and all 4 require selling. In employment there is risk of losing our jobs whether it’s because of the whims of bosses and upper management or because the company fails or goes through rough quarters.
And in employment we must sell ourselves each time we want a job or promotion. In most companies employees must fill out an annual review of themselves. Employees still have to sell.
The fear of selling comes from failing to recognize what selling is; just like the inability to make money comes from failing to understand that money must flow.
Recall that money is the energy of gratitude and that its purpose it to express appreciation.
So how do we get more money?
Oh. Oops… scratch that. We’re not looking for more money, right? We want more flow of money…
So how do we get more flow of money?
If money is the energy of gratitude and its purpose is to express appreciation, then I must give people a reason to be grateful for me and express their appreciation for me.
That is the Tao of Flowing Money!
That is what we meant in Money Miniseries #3 when we said:
“When you focus on the flow, the relevant questions become:
• What is out there in the world that I can express my appreciation for?
• What can I offer to the world so that others express their appreciation for me?
• What about me is worth appreciating?
• What can I do that others would appreciate me for?”
If we appreciate the process of the flow of energy, we automatically search for ways to help and benefit others. By benefitting others, we help ourselves.

In the next edition, we’ll continue to talk about the Tao of Flowing Money; specifically how to get people to be grateful for us. And what to do to get others to express their appreciation.
And we’ll cover those important questions for each of the 4 ways of Creating money.
